Subhadra Kumari Chauhan

Subhadra Kumari Chauhan was an Indian poet, famous for her highly popular poem “Jhansi ki Rani”. She was born on August 16, 1904, at Nihalpur village in Allahabad District, Uttar Pradesh. She has composed a range of famous works in the field of poetry, in the Hindi language. While her poem Jhansi Ki Rani remains to be the most famous of the lot for its high emotional quotient; some of her other compositions include poems, ‘Jallianwala Bagh mein Vasant’, ‘Veeron Ka Kaisa Ho Basant’, ‘Rakhi Ki Chunauti’, and ‘Vida’.
