Happy Rakshabandhan
Also known as rakhi, Rakshabandhan happens to be a popular festival that celebrates the bond of sibling love; brother & sister. On this day, as a customary practice sister of all ages tie a talisman, or amulet, called the rakhi, around the wrists of their brothers. This bond not only symbolizes the unconditional love shared by a brother and sister but is also a promise from the brother to protect the sister and take responsibility for her care. The festival is observed on the last day of the Hindu lunar calendar month of Shraavana, which typically falls in August.
