Gurdas Maan

Born: 4 January 1957

He is an Indian singer, songwriter, choreographer and actor mainly associated with Punjabi music and films.

He is considered one of the most notable figures in Punjabi music.

He was born in Giddarbaha village of Punjab and gained national attention in 1980 with the song “Dil Da Mamla Hai”.

He has gone on to record over 34 albums and has written over 305 songs.

In 2013 he announced the launch of his YouTube channel to stay connected with his fans via video blogs and old as well as new music videos.

Valiyaveetil Diju

Born: 4 January 1981

He also known as V. Diju, is an Indianbadminton player from Kozhikode, Kerala.

He, along with partner Jwala Gutta, is the current national mixed-doubles champions and the pair are currently ranked 7th in the world by Badminton World Federation.

He is the winner of Arjuna Award 2014, given by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, government of India to recognize his outstanding achievement in National sports.

He is also the winner of G. V. Raja awards, which is the highest government-level recognition for sports persons in Kerala.

He is winner of Jimmy George award 2014.He is also nowinner of Vivekanandha sports excellence award 2014.

He won the Youth excellence award also in 2014.He is only the second badminton player from the state, after Vimal Kumar, to represent India in Olympics.
